Apple Products in Education

This is one of the most common pieces of technology currently being used in school's across the country including my current learning settings. I am an Apple advocate because my family and friends personally use them outside of school which highlights and reinforces the benefits for use in any setting.

Where they are used and What for

Every pupil learns differently and with the aid from the i pad and with minimal effort it can transform pupils learning. You can adapt and use programmes to suit their individual needs which is extremely important when working with all children especially ones with learning difficulties. Each Teacher has a fully accessible I pad designated to further learning (15). Also there are 6 pupil I pads which are allocated out for lessons on a rotor which are restricted by local authority IT. We use them all over the curriculum to help engage, improve their concentration and in general their learning experience. Top Educational Apps

I Have Learned

That the pupils are highly confident with this technology thus learning to stand back and not Scaffold too much with their learning.

I Can Apply This To Support Pupils

By identifying opportunities to help pupils who are struggling to engage by tapping into something they enjoy.

Impact On Learning

There has been a huge positive impact on learning in my service setting especially as we have a wide range of complex learners at our setting. 

From the list above all  and some have progressed pupils learning immensely.

Changes To Help Learner

Consistency and routine would help consolidate and improve the pupils learning experience. I have used many Apps which have been beneficial- Puppet Pals 

is a great App for imaginative story writing which can be cross curricular!!! 

However i could realistically allow the learner to explore the I Pad rather than telling them what to go on, which improve their learning experiences more.

Applying Theory Into Practise 

Although we are not too bad with Apple products i do feel we could invest in a few more which would make a difference. Also the reality is how often we are allocated the I Pads but we could coordinate that better with the head facilitator of the I Pads.
